Ghana : land of the Gates of No Return!

COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD  No 69: Ghana, land of the well preserved and restored Cape Coast Castle, one of the “gates of no return” of the infamous Atlantic slave trade.

The Republic of Ghana is a presidential constitutional democracy, located in West Africa along the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic Ocean.

The offical currency of Ghana is the Ghana Cedi. The exchange rate between the Ghana Cedi and the US Dollar or the Euro or some other currency can be found at : www.oanda.com

Vaccination requirements and other health related information for travel to Ghana can be found on the Center for Disease Control website at : wwwnc.cdc.gov

Visa requirements for travel to Ghana by US citizens can be found on the Ghana embassy website: www.ghanaembassy.org BonVoyageurs does recommend that all US citizens traveling to Ghana enroll in the Smart Traveler Program of the US Department of State.

    I always found something surreal in greyish, bad-weatherish depictions of exotic sights.
    Black and white photos of palm tree lanes look so unusual, surreal even, because we know they’re supposed to be boasting with colour.
